The ASPEN 10,000CM water purification system will supply 8,500
to 10,000 gallons per day (between 300 and 400 gallons per hour) of highly purified water from virtually any non-saline water
source. Water can be drawn from ditches, ponds, rivers, lakes or standing water that may contain chemical and biological contamination.
(DECON also shown)
The Purification Process
Two Stage Filtration. The first stage removes sand, dirt and very
fine particles. The second stage removes harmful microorganisms such as paramecium, amoeba, giardia, cryptosporidium and
other small matter down to 1 micron in size.
Water Treatment. Two replaceable multi-media water treatment canisters
are used in series to effectively treat 80,000 gallons of surface water containing contaminants such as lead, barium, selenium
and arsenic, prior to replacement. It also removes high levels of manmade pollutants such as solvents, insecticides and petrochemicals.
When used to eliminate possible microbial contamination in clear water, the canister may be used up to 100,000 gallons. It
is most effective when the flow rate does not exceed 7 gallons per minute.
Disinfecting. The ultraviolet (UV) lamp
system is the primary form of disinfection and is rated in excess of 15 gallons per minute, as much as twice the level required
by US regulatory agencies, and exceeds the World Health Organization’s standards. UV is much faster acting than chlorine
and has been proven to destroy 99.99% of all bacteria and viruses found in water, such as e-coli, cholera, typhoid, anthrax
and polio and effectively inactivate minute organisms. A chlorine feed system insures a chemical residual for water being
transported or stored.
General Operation
Power Source. Operates on 240 volts AC at 50 or 60 hertz, with an
optional 110-volt step up transformer making it compatible with virtually any international AC power source. Power cord with
adapter is provided. Additional DC capabilities for 12 Volt (Civilian) and 24 Volt (Military) are additional options.
Pressure.
The variable-speed, shallow well pump can draw water up to 20 feet and provide water, under pressure, on demand. This is
highly desirable when filling containers or pumping through a manifold.
Triple Mode Display. A digital display shows;
the volume of water passing through the system from 2.5 to 10 gallons per minute, the total run time of the filter canisters,
and the total run time of the UV exposure unit.
Safety Features. The operating and monitoring components are designed
with a protective shutdown system. The overall system will automatically shut down in the event of a failure in the primary
disinfecting process. A UV override is integrated due to the chlorine feed system but must be closely monitored to insure
chlorine is present.
Dimensions. The unit is enclosed with rugged protective case, (Case dimensions are 48X40X33)
or may be purchased with cart option shown in photo. The approximate dry weight of the water treatment unit is less than
290 pounds.
Replacement Packages. Extended Use Accessory Packages are available and include expendables and spare
parts.
